Thrown Bowl
This is a bowl that I threw on the wheel. I decided to paint flower patterns on it, and I think it turned out really good. When doing this again, I want to wait longer before I trim my piece because the middle started to sink. I think waiting longer will cause me to have a more even center.

Incense Holder
This is an incense holder that I made out of a slab and then sculpted little bugs on it. I put paper towels under it to create the bumps and scored and slipped the bugs on it. This was my second attempt on it, as my first did not go so well. When doing this again, I learned that if I wait too long, it will crack.

Spoon Rest
I made a spoon rest for my mama. I used a slab and then molded it into the shape I wanted. It is not perfect, but I am happy with the way it turned out. In the future I would probably spend more time on trying to make the edges even and symmetrical.

Tragic end to my poetry inspired piece
The bad news I got today was that this piece blew up in the kiln. I feel really sad about this, as I spent many classes on this and I was very proud of it. However, I know I signed up to take an art class specifically ceramics, and things break all the time in this room, so I have to be prepared for my art to be broken. I know the reason that this didn't work out was that I did not wedge my clay enough so from now on, I will make sure that my clay is as wedged as I can get it, so that this wont happen again.

Tiny thrown bowl
I made a small little thrown bowl. I actually really like this piece even though its small and honestly a little stupid looking. I really like how even I got the edges to look, and the walls are all symmetrical which I am very proud of. However, when continuing to throw, I want to focus on trying to make bigger pieces and make them as even as this one is. I also need to work on my trimming, because I cannot do it as much as I try. I think I would benefit from watching additional youtube videos and maybe another trimming lesson so I can better understand what I need to do.

First finished piece with red clay
I started to experiment with red clay during 2nd semester. I found that it was slightly easier to throw with, but I always ended up covered in the red substance and it would stain some of my clothes and my hands for at least a day after. Still, I continued to work with it and I started to really like it. As always, I destroyed more pieces then I made, but I'm happy with how perfect this first one turned out. The walls are even, the top is smooth, my edges are compressed and I am really proud with how it turned out. The only thing that I need to change next time is the glazing, the glaze is uneven and spotty in some places which makes it look like I rushed it. If next time I made sure the glazing worked with my piece instead of against it, I would think it would look better.

Poetry inspired piece
This is my poetry inspired piece that we did as a collab with Mrs. Ruby's class. I really like it, and I think its very cute, but the only thing I wish I did was add more glass to the bottom so that my fish was more covered.

Pot
I threw this little pot, and I know its small but I am very proud of mt trimming on this piece. I feel like it is very even and everything was perfectly smooth. The only thing I want to focus on is making my pe

Pot
This is another piece that I threw and I am very proud of my trimming again. I like the size of this one more than my other one, and I like that I chose all 1 color rather than 2.

Incense holder
I made another incense holder but this time with little fruits instead of bugs. I think I like the other one better because the glaze turned out more even, but this one is still cute. I like that I made the hole bigger on this one, so it remained open in the kiln.
